These 2001 scans show the name of Lydia Korns in an old McGuffy's Spelling Book that is presently in the possession of a descendant of Allen Korns who would have obtained it from the Allen Korns family residence in Southampton Township, Somerset County PA.
The top scan is from the inside of the front cover, greatly magnified.
The middle scan shows the last page and the inside of the back cover, which contains writing that says "Somerset County PA" and writing that appears to be "dear lydia korns"; the bottom scan shows this writing greatly enlarged.
The following scan shows page 51 from the Lydia Korns spelling book. The handwriting around the edge says "Pennsylvania Somerset County Southampton township".
